What's new?

Post  Otto Weiss on Sun Feb 16, 2014 2:43 pm

Good day gentlemen
Just thought I would drop by and see what is happening these days. Looks pretty quiet in the forum, is all the posting going on at another forum?
Cheers, Weiss

We are active on TS and I guess everything is said there. But you are right.
We will have a campaign going very soon and I suspect we will be more active then.
You need to keep in touch so we know you are interested

There's a bit of talk in the Casino and Stab sections. But not much else. We're usually on TS and the awards/promotions/aar is now handled by a slick new intranet that Hipper designed. No more copy and pasting into an AAR thread. Not campaign at the moment and when that kicks off we'll probably be over at the SoW side more anyway.

I do plead ignorance. Ain't seen much of you. What's going on at your end?

Yup, you are right, I am right out of touch with the CoD world. Have been flying IL2 HSFX in SEOW campaigns and practicing wingman training with a pal that lives in Ontario. The 2 hour time difference makes it close enough to pull off in the evenings. Been watching and upgrading my CoD install up to 4.0. Tried some video tweaking seen posted on the web by those who have tried to improve visuals. I really have not dedicated much time to the sim, some things are great but there are some issues that I am still waiting for patching to improve. One of my biggest gripes is how terrain is rendered at a distance. If it simply was blurry or unfocused at a distance, that would be fine but flying over France and looking out to what seems like an inland sea only to see that it is a cluster of rivers when you get closer, well to someone that likes realistic nav, it doesn’t cut the mustard. I also find it harder to ID aircraft the way they are rendered at distances as compared to IL2 but that can probably be improved with practice. Anyways been kicking around the idea of giving it another try, “perhaps”. So I was just passing by to see what was cooking.

Today I wrote contract for a brand new house and are to sell my house. I think I will be more or less offline until we moved in in April. However I will try to join in as much as I can

Congratulations. Is it in the city or country? I think I remember you saying something about your wife wanting to move in the city and you of course would like to go the opposite way.

That's a nice looking place with a pretty awesome view. You're logic makes sense. But she would've won even if you were home everyday Wink.
