Re: Bomber Box
They only way your having LED's is if you wire them in parrellel on a single throw switch mate... without allot of headaches anyway.
Those componants cost pence, why pay 6 or 10 quid?

I know right... Anyway just got the breadboard out and had a quick test... Looks good! Need to get my head round the coding but that shouldn't be a problem. The only problem is that it's a Friday and can't barrow any test components until Monday urgh! Shall test more later after I clean my car!

Yea you can!
So I have Arduino Installed...
I then installed Teensydunino and followed the setup...
https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/teensyduino.html
Then I just followed parts of this link...
https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/td_joystick.html
I just want to tweek the coding alittle, might ask on the Arduino forums!

Well basically some of the analogue and digital pins are tide (as you know) and I noticed the digital buttons respond when I was adjusting the analogue inputs... I just want to disable those digital inputs...

Re: Bomber Box
Diode Matrix (Had to google it...) I believe you are referring to the teensy extension so that it has twice as many axis' and buttons?
Anyway... Yesturday I was busy designing a PCB layout for the teensy board and all the connection points. This was done on demonstration software so I cant save it! Only screenshot!
As for costing... well it looks like I am going to folk out around £150...

Shopping Basket
Well I went through the list of components I want... annoying to say the prices shown did not include VAT and next day delivery >.> (Total came up to £156.62 - not including any wire which I will have to buy at Maplin's)
Guess ill have to wait till next month with my order :/

Re: Bomber Box
This is a setup a guy in US is making for me. It is going to bring my pit to a new level.
I have been saving up money for a second flightsim setup at my workplace.
I have also ordered this
And with two TrackIr I pretty much getting a future of availability all month.
I have been a bit discourage of this on and off thing, So in a month I am probably well set with two pits one at work and one home.
With the new rudder pedals and control boxes it become very expensive, so I am looking for a used warthog or maybe a new x 55 Rhino to use at work together wit my Saitek rudders

Mouth watering...
That is some sexy shit! Shame I don't have the budget for all that! Maybe later on :/ Would certainly be a cool challenge!
I printed my distribution board recently but I haven't done anything else!

Re: Bomber Box
What are you talking about Wolfgang?! You have more money than sense... I surprised you dont own a real 109 by now...
Re: Bomber Box
Well I am not among the sharpest knifes in the drawer. Knowing I owed 3000$ in taxes I manage to write it down to 2000$
And for a moment I fooled myself to thinking I actually got 1000$ in the process. So I figured I blew 500$ on a cool gadget to my, pit

Panels spread out across the living room floor. Putting in all the buttons
The two of them together (with my joystick and throttle set up attached)
closer look of the engine / fuel panel
another close up, but of the main panel this time

Re: Bomber Box
Wow! You've really made us envious with that set up.
I'd say you cannot blame your equipment if you miss a target.

Re: Bomber Box
[QUOTE=Apache600]Hello there
been making some pretty good progress on the wiring. But have also run into some problems. Glad to say that i've figured out how to solve those issues and am moving on. Here's some pictures!
First major issue. I did my button count wrong, and realized i needed 3 more switches than what were readily available. So i had to create this matrix/grid so that i could use all the combinations of the HAT feature on one of the Leo Bodnars (Instead of just using Up, Down, Left, Right, I needed to use the diagnal movements too ...i.e. Up and Left, Up and Right, Down and Left, Down and Right)
hooking it up to the Leo Bodnar to test my theory
IT WORKS! but, there is a downside to it. You CAN NOT move the two black switches at the same time. If you do, you could accidentally trigger a movement on the bottom right two switches. This is why. The large black switches (which are Sight Altitude and Sight Velocity) are wired to Up,Down,Left,Right on the HAT. And the bottom right to switches (which are Bomb Distributor Salvo Quantity and Bomb Distributor Delay) are Up & Left, Up & Right, Down & Left, Down & Right. So if i were to hit both Sight Altitude Increase (HAT UP) and Sight Velocity Increase (HAT LEFT) the computer will recognize that as HAT UP & LEFT and press the Bomb Distributor Salvo Quantity Increase switch.
Get what I'm saying? I selected these specific keys to share that function since it's stuff you shouldn't be switching at the same time anyway. I figured it is all stuff you would select once at a time. When it's done like that, it's never an issue.
This proved to be a little distraction. But she also just liked watching me solder
Here's the boards all wired up. Had to put them up on the closet shelves so the cat couldn't play with them
Hope you like the pictures. Hoping to get everything wired soon. Tomorrow i have to figure out how i want the printer cable to connect the two control panels and wire those up. If all goes well, testing should be very soon!
Take care!

I have not received it yet, he make this how I wish it to be, a combined setup for twin engined aircraft in CLOD. He make 4 of them and hope to sell 3. For me selling out my pistols and other stuff I no longer use it is just a re investing in a hobby I do use.
The box itself does not cost much compared to those at 3000$ that will not work for my purpose. I will pay 500 $ for this one and probably 200$ in shipping.
Worth it?
For me yes, I have these endless discussions with people complaining of all sorts of small issues and want things realistic, to me they cannot speak of such realism as long as they use a digital warthog stick fingertip maneuvering towards their target.
I understand why, because that is the higher level of affordable equipment there is. But still they want realism not obtainable in a sim only in planes.
My yoke alone cost me 1600 $ and it really make you a lousy fighter pilot, because you need to use muzzles to maneuver . With my throttle and yoke I can get good old IL 2 feel realistic.
When I get this setup working I will have:
2 leo bodnar control cards with 6 hotas input each and multiple switch.
5 sliders and some switches I can offer for free to those wanting to build them selves something.
Just say the word and I will send it to you when I am set up

Re: Bomber Box
For 700 USD I think you got a bargain, the components look good quality. Yeah you had to make it up yourself but when it goes wrong, you will have more confidence in repair!
Pretty cool man. Pretty cool! - I think you win our little competition.
